Daniel Alden Knott was born in Jackson, Tennessee on September 6, 1960. He was admitted to the Bar of the State of Texas in 1986 and was subsequently admitted to the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts in Texas, the 5th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Knott was educated at the University of Texas at Austin, received a B.B.A. degree in 1983 in Petroleum Land Management, and the University of Houston Law Center, earning his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 1986. While in law school, he was a member of Phi Delta Phi honorary legal fraternity, The Advocates, and was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for achievement in the study of Business Organizations.
Mr. Knott is a trial lawyer and is actively engaged in representing clients in Federal and State Courts in cases involving construction defect disputes, commercial auto bodily injury and wrongful death claims, employer liability, personal injury, general negligence and commercial disputes, among others.
He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association (Litigation and Construction Law Sections) and the State Bar of Texas (Litigation and Construction Law Sections). Mr. Knott is an AV-rated attorney and is a Life Fellow in the Dallas Bar Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation. He has been the Managing Partner of the Firm since 2002.
